To support our continued success, we are looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join our branch in Hixon, Staffordshire. This branch is proud to be the sole supplier to one of the largest water treatment companies and is located within a large repair workshop with access to a wide range of facilities.

The role of the Workshop Supervisor ensure effective maintenance and a high standard of presentation of the pump hire fleet along with assisting the Sales Controller in the day to day activities of the branch.

Essential Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance and Repair

CSCS Card

Skills:

Proven work history within a similar industry and workshop environment

Man management responsibilities with emphasis of leading and developing

Responsibilities of the Workshop Supervisor:

  • Ensure that Company rules and procedures, standard safety measures and fire regulations are enforced.
     
  • Supervise and monitor approved training programmes for other staff as necessary.
     
  • At all times set a professional example of good management and discipline, ensure that all Company property and equipment is maintained as to the required Company standard to prevent any accident or injury to any person or damage to Company property.
     
  • Ensure that all the necessary administration required for the control of work within the department is completed and submitted to the Branch Manager.
     
  • Develop and maintain a workshop repair programme for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of hire fleet, sales and customers’ machines.
     
  • Identify any problems relating to extensive costs or repetitive repairs to individual or groups of machines or equipment and report to Branch Manager.
     
  • Report to Branch Manager any proposals for modifications to machines or equipment.
     
  • Chase outstanding spares or material requirements required for work in hand or awaiting repairs that are likely to cause work to fall behind schedule.
     
  • Recommend improvements to work methods, systems, procedures and equipment likely to reduce waste and cost and ensure implementation of those improvements when approved.
     
  • Ensure that all the necessary administration required for the control of work within the department is completed and submitted to the Branch Manager.
     
  • To help ensure all damage is notified and charged to the customer where applicable.
     
  • As necessary, to personally carry out work in compliance with recommended manufacturer’s procedures and having regard for own health and safety, Company employees, customers, general public and the environment.
     
  • Understand and interpret work to relevant instructions and technical information available, so as to carry out all tasks in the most efficient and safe manner.

The main responsibilities are outlined above.  This is not a definitive list and other tasks/ activities may be necessary, as the Company’s commercial activities require.
