A group that offers football coaching to youngsters of all abilities has been given a boost thanks to Selwood’s pump rental teams.
Little Kicks, based in Middlesbrough, is a not-for-profit group which uses professional sports coaching to give youngsters to the opportunity to fulfil their potential regardless of their ability, economic status, race, gender, sexuality or disability.
As part of Selwood’s 70th anniversary celebrations, the pump rental teams at Selwood’s Middlesbrough branch were pleased to make a donation to support the group.
The year 2016 is a very special one for Selwood and they’re going to be celebrating it in style at Hillhead.
Selwood will be marking 70 years since the company was founded with a special stand at the event, which runs from June 28 to 30 at Hillhead Quarry, Derbyshire.
To mark their Platinum anniversary year, the stand, to be found at Hillhead at V16, will feature a platinum-wrapped D100 Super Silent drainer pump.
The young stars of an Under-12s football team sponsored by Selwood kicked off their summer with a spectacular win.
Proudly wearing blue kit sponsored by Selwood, the Dorset-based Parley U12s stormed to victory in the Warminster Highbury six-a-side tournament, the first in a series of summer events they are competing in this year.
The boys didn’t miss a beat throughout the competition, beating all their rivals on their way to a showdown with Trowbridge in the final.
Selwood’s pump sales teams have returned from a successful trip to Munich where they exhibited at IFAT, the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management.
During the exhibition, which was attended by 138,000 visitors from over 170 nations, Selwood’s representatives took the opportunity to catch up with suppliers, distributors and fellow industry professionals.
Volunteers from plant hire specialists Selwood donated time and equipment to help create a unique “forest garden” for use by children at a junior school.
Staff from Selwood’s Newcastle branch swung into action to help move 60 tonnes of topsoil that had been supplied to Usworth Colliery Primary School.
The soil had been handed over by construction specialists Owen Pugh Group, who are regular customers of Selwood’s Newcastle branch, in response to a plea from Year 4 pupils.
