Selwood, the UK’s leading supplier of pump rental solutions, played its part in helping to provide clean water and sanitation to some of the poorest people in the world.
The company supported a charity event at Chepstow Racecourse that was organised by Welsh Water, a long-standing customer of Selwood.
Selwood donated £1,000 to the event – bringing the total raised for WaterAid to more than £12,220.
Hampshire-based civil engineering contractor Oliver & Brown has invested in its continuing growth with a £150,000 purchase of construction equipment from Selwood’s plant hire and sales team.
Oliver & Brown, which has been established by the Oliver family for 30 years and has a long-standing relationship with plant hire experts at Selwood’s head office in Chandler’s Ford, has bought a Hyundai HX140 tracked excavator, two Thwaites six-tonne front tip dumpers and two Hamm HD12vv double drum rollers.
Selwood’s high-performance S150M, one of the newest additions to the company’s market-leading pump range, demonstrated its efficiency and versatility when it was used by Ian Dickie & Co (Johannesburg) for a heavy duty application in South Africa.
Ian Dickie & Co, a leading South African manufacturer and distributor of construction and municipal equipment, needed a fast and reliable pumping solution for a client in the Sasolburg region of the Free State with a requirement to pump a large quantity of recycled water.
Selwood, the UK’s leading supplier of pump rental solutions, has been successful in retaining its position as a Framework Partner to Anglian Water for a further five years.
The refreshed arrangement sees Selwood’s specialists become framework suppliers to Anglian Water, providing pumps and ancillary equipment for planned and emergency requirements.
Selwood, which supplies around 70% of UK water companies, has been an official supplier for Anglian Water since winning the framework agreement in August 2011.
Selwood has been awarded a three-year contract to supply pumping solutions to Network Rail for use on two of its key routes in and out of London.
Selwood was successful in a tender process to become a preferred supplier to the network for the London North Western and London North Eastern & East Midlands Routes. In a further success for Selwood, the Wales Route has subsequently been added to the agreement.
