The team from Selwood who took part in the Waste Water Cup 2018

Leading pump manufacturer and supplier Selwood supported a charity football tournament in Bristol that saw more than £2,000 raised for good causes.

A team from Selwood’s Bristol branch took part in the Waste Water Cup 2018, which saw companies involved in the water industry from across the South West enter five-a-side teams for a knock-out football tournament. Held at Goals, in Broomhill Road, Bristol, the day raised a total of £2,180, which will be split equally between The National Autistic Society and Cancer Research UK.

Mark Hicks, who took part in the football tournament and is Branch Manager of Bristol Plant for Selwood, said: “Selwood’s team, which included myself, Dan Tripp, Drew Tanner, Josh Stephens, and Simon Blythe, felt very honoured to take part in this football tournament to help raise money for two important charities. It was also a great team-building exercise and we were glad to score plenty of goals!

“A big thank you has to be paid to Andy King, from Wessex Water, for organising such a great fundraising event.”
