Selwood will be showcasing new high-performance solids handling pumps that are ideal for quarrying and construction applications at the forthcoming Hillhead 2018.
The S150M is a new medium head pump suitable for multiple uses, including long distance water transfer and dewatering for sites and quarries. Featuring Selwood’s trademark reliability and proven Selprime automatic self-priming technology, the diesel-driven model complements Selwood’s existing S range of solids handling pumps.
Selwood will be exhibiting a working rental unit at the Hillhead exhibition, which will take place in Buxton from June 26 to 28. As well as the diesel model on display, the team will also be introducing the variant version, the S150M Electric, which is now available for rental and sale.
The S150M Electric features all the high-performance features of the S150M with the added benefit of a highly-efficient, eco-friendly 30KW IE3 electric motor. Both meet a specific demand in the construction and quarrying market for a versatile medium head pump.
Selwood pump specialists will be exhibiting at Stand V16 at Hillhead, which is held in a limestone quarry in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside and brings together the world’s leading professionals across the quarrying, construction and recycling sectors. The team will also be displaying other models from their world-leading range, including high-head H pumps, high-volume drainer D pumps, and the Seldredge, all of which are renowned for their efficiency in the quarrying and mining industry.

The S150M is available in Selwood’s world-leading Super Silent canopies, as skid or as pump end only. The S150M Electric currently comes as skid, but will soon be available in the Super Silent canopy. As always, service support comes from the company’s extensive branch network in the UK and its strategic partners worldwide.
The S150M and S150M Electric feature the following capabilities:
- flow rates of up to 700m3/h and total heads of 70 metres
- solids handlings capability of 76mm.
- excellent suction performance (NPSHr) and a best efficiency point of 68% at 2000rpm (450 m3/h at 51m head)
- internal wear parts are supplied in stainless steel 316 as standard, providing superb abrasion and corrosion resistance.
- The diesel version has class-leading fuel consumption from the latest CAT C4.4 engine.
- The electric version features a 30KW IE3 electric motor and is ideal for environmentally-sensitive areas and urban/semi-urban applications.
Both models of the S150M join new products in Selwood’s S range, including the S160Eco, which is quietest pump on the market as tested against EU directive 2000/14/EC and is designed to meet stringent EU Stage IIIB emissions regulations with its Isuzu diesel engine.
