Selwood is to spend £4.2million on its plant fleet in 2020 as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to offering the latest environmentally-friendly construction equipment for hire across its UK branch network.

The investment builds on the £13.5milion invested into the fleet over the past three years, which ensures customers have access to up-to-date equipment from leading brands including CAT, Hyundai, Takeuchi and Yanmar excavators, JCB and Thwaites dumpers, Ammann and Hamm rollers and telehandlers from Merlo and JCB.

It comes as Selwood continues to grow its plant hire operation, with a focus on versatility, reliability and exceptional customer service. In 2018 the company agreed a four-year supplier agreement with Takeuchi and Finning UK to be its main suppliers for its excavator fleet in the UK, moved its Bournemouth plant hire branch to a new, larger location and opened a newly-refurbished plant hire branch in Tipton, Birmingham to serve the Midlands.

Meanwhile, Selwood has invested in a range of technology improvements including the use of a tablet system for servicing and deliveries, QR codes on all machines to reduce on site paperwork and a tracking system giving customers additional peace of mind by monitoring the use and movement of hired plant.

Selwood offers plant hire from seven UK centres – Chandler’s Ford in Southampton, Bournemouth, Sittingbourne, Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham.
