We’re bringing £4.5million of new equipment into our branches during 2021 as we continue to invest heavily in our plant hire fleet.
First to be delivered are our first batch of Wacker Neuson Dual View dumpers (pictured), which are to be based at our Bristol branch. These have a swivel seat which can turn 180 degrees, giving the operator a perfect view at all times during transportation, loading and unloading.
One of the new dumpers will be going straight to Hinkley Point C in Somerset where Selwood’s pumping solutions and plant hire teams are supporting a project to build two new nuclear reactors.
We’ve also just taken delivery of new Kobelco excavators into the plant hire fleet. These have a range of safety measures including rear and side view cameras and high-vis hand rails and steps.
They are capable of running on environmentally HVO fuel derived from vegetable oil, in line with our commitment to sustainability and our ongoing investment in plant hire around Selwood’s regional branches.
As the investment continues, we’ll be seeing new plant arrive every month until the end of the summer, including Takeuchi excavators, Merlo telehandlers, more Kobelco excavators, JCB telehandlers and some Thwaites dumpers.
The latest additions are part of our ongoing commitment to investing in the plant hire fleet, which last year saw £2.2million worth of new equipment brought into our branches.
Selwood offers plant hire from five UK centres – Chandler’s Ford in Southampton, Bournemouth, Exeter, Bristol, and Birmingham.
