It’s been an annual local landmark and a highlight of the festive season for decades – and this year the giant Christmas tree outside Selwood’s Hampshire headquarters is needed more than ever. The huge tree has lit up the neighbourhood in Chandler’s Ford every year for 67 years, and many locals say they don’t feel the celebrations have truly begun until they see it. The tree is traditionally put up at the end of November, with its lights turned on during the evening of the last Friday of the month.

At Selwood, we are always looking for ways to improve our products and provide exceptional service to our customers. We listen carefully to feedback to understand what customers would like from us – and one topic that has been raised is the lead times for our pumps. All our pumps are manufactured at our UK headquarters by our specialist teams to the highest quality standards. It’s what makes them world-renowned for their reliability and longevity, and of course it’s a process that takes time.

As lockdown restrictions ease across the UK, the health and wellbeing of staff customers remains our highest priority. This video outlines the strict social distancing and hygiene measures that all Selwood staff are working to whether they are at our headquarters, in our network of pump rental branches, or out serving customers. We would like to express thanks to our staff for their hard work as we continue to play our part in working together to minimise the spread of Coronavirus.

You might have spotted some of Selwood’s team on TV recently, filmed playing their part in one of the biggest water infrastructure projects in the country. Viewers of Sewermen on Channel 5 saw Selwood pumps being switched on to get water flowing into a newly-built reservoir in the Lake District, Cumbria. The 50-megalitre facility was filled up over three months to test for any cracks or leaking. Having passed all tests, it will be placed underground to preserve the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
