At Selwood, we love a challenge – and we’ve set ourselves an ambitious one to mark our 75th anniversary this year. Our exceptional people in pump solutions and plant hire branches around the UK will be pulling together with the aim of raising £75,000 for charity through a range of events and activities. When Selwood was founded in 1946, Britain was rebuilding itself in the aftermath of the Second World War. Now, in 2021, the country is facing the challenge of recovering from the social and economic impacts of the pandemic.

It’s been an annual local landmark and a highlight of the festive season for decades – and this year the giant Christmas tree outside Selwood’s Hampshire headquarters is needed more than ever. The huge tree has lit up the neighbourhood in Chandler’s Ford every year for 67 years, and many locals say they don’t feel the celebrations have truly begun until they see it. The tree is traditionally put up at the end of November, with its lights turned on during the evening of the last Friday of the month.
