The Liverpool team with their Baseefa certificate

Selwood’s dedicated electrical pump repair centre, strategically placed in Liverpool, has gained the SGS Baseefa accreditation to carry out explosion-proof pump repairs.

The IECEx Certificate, issued by Baseefa, confirms that Selwood’s service facility has been independently verified to have the appropriate equipment, competent staff and procedures for repairs on equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Selwood’s large testing facility in Liverpool is able to full-load test pumps up to 300kw. With fully-qualified electrical engineers, they can run the equipment at full capacity to measure flow, head and temperature. The centre can carry out repairs on both the Selwood rental fleet of pumps as well as customers’ own pumps.

The certification also provide confidence that the repair, overhaul or modification works comply with requirements such as IEC 60079-19 and the quality standard ISO 9001:2008.

Mark Bebbington, Director of Special Projects & Electrical Development, said: “We are delighted to receive the IECEx Certificate from Baseefa, following a rigorous audit process.

“Safety and customer confidence are of paramount importance to Selwood and we are pleased to be able to offer the next level of repair and modification services to our rental fleet and customers.”
