Selwood exhibited at Carlisle Racecourse

Specialists from Selwood shared their expertise in health and safety and environmental issues at three events held by MWH Global.

As a supplier of pumps to MWH, a leading environmental services company, Selwood was invited to exhibit at three “Stand Down Days” held by the company.

Stand Down Days are common in industry as an opportunity for staff to down tools and focus on health and safety and related issues.

Selwood exhibited at three of these days over the spring and summer, held at Carlisle Racecourse, the Heart of England Conference Centre in Warwickshire and the East Sussex Conference Centre, Uckfield.

The theme of the events was “SHEQ of the Future”, with MHW focusing on the past, present and future of the water industry, and specifically the impact on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.

Selwood pump experts David Melhuish, Richard Cutting, Dean Hempshall, John Kitchen, Pete Zemenides, James Sinnock and Pete Ryan were involved in the events, supported by QHSE Manager Gloria Grace and Director of Special Projects Mark Bebbington.

Selwood exhibited with pop-ups and banners and screened a video showcase of recent projects. Attendees were also shown how Selwood pumps had developed through 64 years of manufacture, and given product information and supporting literature.

Topics covered included health and safety training, Selwood’s ISO accreditations, delivering safely, range and quality standards of equipment, positive health and safety interventions and much more.

Selwood continues to work closely with MWH and its joint venture partners Advance and CMDP on a range of projects, and has had very positive feedback from MWH on the quality of equipment, service and attention to health and safety on site.
